The mission of LIFE, working in collaboration with families, is to assist residents to develop the skills to function as independently as possible, and to provide supports to assist them in attaining their maximum level of independence, self fulfillment
and happiness. Our commitment encompasses the personal, social, and employment needs of LIFE residents.
LIFE is focused on enhancing program quality and addressing the evolving needs of its residents as they proceed through the stages of their adult lives. A strong partnership with LIFE residents' families is a cornerstone of past success and a base for a successful future. Incorporated in 1992, LIFE opened its Supported Independent Living Program to 10 adults with learning disabilities at its Hyannis, MA condominium community in 1993. By 1996, the Hyannis location had more than doubled in physical size and number of residents served.
In 1997, as a result of growing success, LIFE identified another Cape Cod site on which to build a second condominium village in the town of Mashpee, MA. which made it possible for LIFE to provide supportive services to many more learning challenged adults.
